These kits are versatile, catering not only to standard stern thrusters but also "ignition protected" thrusters, extended runtime thrusters, BOW PRO thrusters, and RIMDRIVE thrusters. When stern thruster openings are too close to the waterline, an extension kit becomes indispensable. This kit prevents the thruster from drawing in air, ensuring optimal thrust and maneuverability. It also effectively directs water flow away from transom-mounted obstructions like outdrives, trim tabs, and swim-platform brackets, maintaining the stern thruster's effectiveness. Comprising two fiberglass shells and stainless steel fastenings, the extension kit can be easily retrofitted to existing installations.
